Short answer: to sit the VicRoads drive test you must be at least 18, have held your learner permit long enough (12 months if you're under 21), have logged 120 supervised hours including 20 at night if you're under 21, and have passed the Hazard Perception Test. The drive test costs $75.30 and has a pre-drive check followed by an on-road drive in two stages — you must pass stage one to continue to stage two.

The VicRoads driving test runs in three parts. Here’s what each one involves.
