The Werribee test usually starts with a reverse park in the official test bay, and a classic local fail is stopping on the yellow keep-clear markings when traffic banks up. We practise the start-bay park, keep-clear discipline and the local routes around Watton Street and Synnot Street.
The VicRoads drive test takes about 30 minutes in two stages, starts with a pre-drive check of the car, and includes either a reverse parallel park or a three-point turn. Routes change, so we warm up on the roads examiners commonly use around the Werribee centre.
Instant-fail errors apply everywhere: a red light, speeding, failing to give way, a missed blind-spot check, or anything that makes the examiner step in.
